Active Transcription with AI and Notion

Transcription is a key enabler of AI, but to date our approach to transcription has been pretty passive, summarising a meeting after it’s finished, transcribing a video etc.

What if you turn transcription into an active exercise, cutting specific pieces of audio and adding structure to your transcription process, tagging and sorting data as it is transcribed and using it to lead the conversation.

This is what I have been testing with the new Notion AI Dictate function currently in Alpha and I’ve been pretty impressed with the results, I’m still exploring this technique, but so far it’s been a really interesting experience and with Apple Intelligence bringing more transcription capabilities to notes and phone calls, the ‘active’ use of transcription might be the next big thing.
